ASIS Member Appreciation Month means even more to DSI Security Services in 2021

During ASIS International Member Appreciation Month, the global network of over 34,000 members continues to support one another by sharing industry best practices, resources, helpful advice and subject matter collaboration. March has always been a special month for that reason, but DSI has even more to celebrate in 2021.

The company’s long-time Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel Eddie Sorrells began serving as an At Large Director on ASIS International’s Global Board of Directors to start the year. ASIS is committed to leading the security industry to the highest standards of expertise and excellence, and DSI, through Sorrells’ involvement, contributes to that essential leadership role.

“ASIS International does so much to promote learning, networking, standards and guidelines, and research in our industry through the ASIS Foundation,” said Sorrells. “With the launch this past year of Subject Area Communities that create a source for timely and relevant information in virtually all areas of security practice, the value of ASIS Membership reached a new level of importance to our industry. We are proud to celebrate ASIS members and also thankful for all of the services and resources of the society that translate into benefits for DSI customers and employees.”

Also, Anthony M. Ybarra, Sr., DSI Branch Manager in the company’s Houston, Texas, office, was recently awarded an Associate Protection Professional (APP) scholarship, highlighting the importance of ASIS certifications in continuing individual improvement to drive overall industry advancement. The APP designation is for those with one to four years of experience in the security management field.

During the entire month of March, Sorrells, Ybarra and the rest of DSI encourage ASIS International members to watch for new, member-exclusive content, flash sales and fun giveaways, as well as engaging member feature stories and social media updates. Like an experienced, committed on-site security team, we’re stronger together.

Founded in 1955, ASIS International is a global community of security practitioners, from entry-level managers to CSOs and CEOs and security veterans and consultants to those transitioning from law enforcement or the military. Representing virtually every industry in the public and private sectors, each member dedicates him or herself to the protection of assets — people, property and/or information. DSI’s founding followed the next decade and the family-owned and operated company continues to follow the industry standard bearer in advancing security services practices and people.
