DSI Security Services is thrilled to announce the hiring of the new Electronics Sales Manager, J. Kent Calhoun, PSP. Calhoun has been a professional in the security industry for over fifteen years and with him he brings fresh, innovative ideas that will continue to put DSI at the forefront of the security solutions business.
“I plan to progressively strengthen and grow the electronic security solutions division of DSI by focusing on the DSI motto of DWYSYWD (Do What You Say You Will Do) and by providing the highest possible level of professional service to our partners utilizing the newest technology,” Calhoun said. “Today’s stakeholders must consider all elements of security, both physical and cyber, to ensure business continuity during an incident or disaster. The threats we face today constantly evolve and it is critical as a security solutions provider to stay ahead of the curve and be ready to provide forward thinking solutions through technology and service.
Calhoun also has plans to develop a comprehensive Hosted and Managed Service offering that will utilize a cloud SaaS (Software as a Service) based approach for many different channels of service and systems.
“System users today want to be able to roam and be remote more than ever,” Calhoun said. “Hosted and Managed solutions allow for a secure platform for remote flexibility.”
Deavours Clark, Regional Manager for DSI, says adding Calhoun to the team is just what the electronics department needed.
“At the pace that DSI is growing, it is important that we as a company continue to develop and hire accurate roles that will have an impact on our future as a front-runner for all security solutions,” Clark said. “Kent is a pivotal asset in this growth, and we are looking forward to seeing him evolve and expand our electronics department.”
Growing up in the Bay Springs community just west of Dothan, Calhoun worked in the family farm equipment business – Max Snell Farm Equipment – and continued to work there throughout college. He attended Troy University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and also received his ASIS International PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification. Prior to his role at DSI, Calhoun was the Vice President of Harris Security Systems for three years and is NTS Level I & II Technician Certified. Currently residing in Wicksburg, Calhoun is happily married to Brittany Calhoun and has three kids: Grant, 11, Libby, 5, and Watson, 2
DSI was started in Dothan, AL in 1969 by then Sheriff A.B. Clark. The company is still family-owned and operated by Alan Clark (A.B.’s son) and his wife Marsha Clark. Today, with more than 4,000 Security Personnel spread throughout the United States, DSI continues its long history of providing uniformed officers, technology solutions, and consulting services to manufacturing facilities and a wide range of other industries.
