DSI Attends 57th Annual ASIS

DSI attended the 57th Annual ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Orlando, FL September 19-22. DSI participated as an exhibitor and also moderated a panel discussion on Post Orders, Training, and Security Officer Liability. DSI also attended and contributed to several other educational sessions during the conference and participated in various council and board meetings.

Tami Corbridge – Branch Manager
Tami started with DSI Security in 2002 as a Site Supervisor. In 2005 Tami became the Payroll Coordinator for the Savannah branch and she began working her way up becoming the Branch manager in 2008. In 2005 Tami was awarded the Payroll Coordinator of the year award and in 2009 the Savannah branch was awarded the Davis Hallford branch of the year award for the previous year. Tami has 12 years of experience in the security industry.

Goals of the Savannah Branch

Have an injury free workplace and promote SAFETY
Gain new customers
Have the best trained and most knowledgeable officers
Increase hours with our existing customers

Eddie Sorrells, DSI’s COO and General Counsel, was a speaker at Manufacture Alabama. This workshop was held on April 7, 2011 in Prattville, AL. Eddie spoke on security challenges in the workplace.

Spotlight on Birmingham Branch

Bob Thurman – District Manager
Bob entered the field of private security after a career in law enforcement. He has served as Director of Security for Mercedes Benz U.S. International, and The Kirklin Clinic at UAB. Most recently, he was Southern Regional Manager for another private security company. Bob joined the DSI family in October 2010.

Sharon Avery – Payroll Coordinator
Sharon is from Gadsden, Alabama where she owned a hair salon. She was hired by DSI as a security officer at the Wynfrey Hotel. When our contract ended, she left to attend Lawson State College where she earned her AA degree in Business Management. Sharon returned to DSI in June 2010 as the Branch Payroll Coordinator.

2011 Goals of the Birmingham Branch

• Increase DSI’s visibility in the market area
by presenting a thoroughly professional
officer.
• Increase market share in the North
Alabama region.
• Advance the DSI image through increased
involvement in community organizations.
• Continuous improvement in officer
training and knowledge.

DSI Granted WBENC Certification

Allison Love Named HR Manager

Eddie Sorrells, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of DSI Security Services, is pleased to announce that effective immediately Allison Love, PHR will assume the role of Human Resources Manager. As HR Manager Allison will guide the HR department and will be responsible for handling a variety of tasks related to employee benefits, employee relations, and Compliance. Allison will work closely with the entire operations department to ensure that the company maintains compliance with all applicable HR standards, statutes, and regulations. Allison has a diverse background in the Human Resources field working for companies such as Movie Gallery and the Law Firm of Cochran, Cherry, &Givens. She recently obtained The Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification. Allison Holds a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Human resources. She resides in Dothan with her Husband Anthony and 2 children.
